CMU, Musuan,Maramag, Bukidnon. One of the most visited booth in the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD) FIESTA is the ATI-RTC X. The booth features IEC materials on goat and other commodities, products of ATI Learning Sites and a video show of success stories and technologies on goat production. E-Learning courses on goat and bamboo are also being offered for free.
The FIESTA which is an acronym for farm and industry encounter through science and technology agenda, features kawayan (bamboo) and kanding (goat) industries. It is a strategy to push the commercialization of regional Science and Technology-based products to its target users and markets. NOMCAARRD highlights bamboo and goat industries in line with the PCAARRD S&T agenda.
Farmers, local government units, investors, manufacturers and students participated in the FIESTA. The Farmers Forum conducted include the discussions on Village Level Establishment of Bamboo Nursery, Prospects of Engineered Bamboo and Mitigating Soil Erosion through Bamboo Plantation. Topics also include Goat Production Technology: A Farmers Perspective.
Different exhibits are displayed highlighting some bamboo products and furniture, goats milk and other food products such as mushrooms, rice, corn and herbal products.
NOMCAARRD has 18 member agencies including the ATI-RTC X. The activity will run until Thursday, March 22, 2018.
