Gusa, CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY---To harmonize the extension and training activities of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the DA family through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) including that of the SUCs, the private sector and the LGUs, a RAFEN Meeting and Updates was held recently as presided by PAS Chief Anita L. Molijon.
The Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Network or RAFEN is composed of different DA attached agencies and line bureaus along with LGUs, members of the academe and other stakeholders which aims to share a commonality of activities to address the same issues and concerns in the agriculture sector.
During her report, Project Evaluation Officer I and Monitoring & Evaluation Officer Designate Cheriemy Daculan Generol discussed and presented the Online Monitoring Information System (OMIS) to the members of the RAFEN network. The said online platform intends to harmonize the reports from other national government agencies, SUCs, LGUs, and partner private sectors of the Institute.
Later, a dialogue and open forum followed to foster understanding with OIC-Center Director Maria Lydia Adviento Echavez sharing some of the center's innovation and best practices to the attendees.
The RAFEN Meeting was capped off with a MOA signing with OIC-Center Director Maria Lydia Adviento Echavez, GreenMinds Inc. President Reynaldo Gil Lomarda and Misamis Oriental Provincial Agriculturist Apollo Pacamalan inking the agreement as members of the RAFEN network along with section chiefs Teodosia D. Jaraba, Anita L. Molijon and Philip Villegas witnessing the deal.
The said meeting and MOA signing transpired on February 26-27, 2019 at the Harborlights Hotel & Restaurant in Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City.
