CALLING APPLICANTS FOR THE FILIPINO YOUNG FARMERS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN TAIWAN

Agriculture, as the backbone of the Philippine economy, plays an important role in the country's economic development. However, the human resource base of the agriculture sector is ageing and dwindling through the years.

One of the thrusts of the Department of Agriculture (DA) is to provide support to young Filipino farmers to transform them as farm leaders and agricultural entrepreneurs. For instance, the continued infusion of training will ensure them to carry on the tasks of making agricultural lands productive and securing food for the country.

The Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program (FYFIP) in Taiwan is a partnership between the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO) through a Memorandum of Understanding. The partnership aims to enhance the relations through the implementation of an internship program for qualified young Filipino farmers.

The Internship Program consists of the acquisition of skills and knowledge through modern agricultural and fisheries techniques including their value chain management, cooperative management; and enhancement of competencies, discipline, and values.

Kindly coordinate to your Provincial/Municipal/City RBO and 4H Coordinators for the selection process.
