Blended Training is the New Flavor

Jiddu Krishnamurti’s quote about education touched me. He said: “There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.”

These words reverberates my sanity. It may sound cliché but for me it means a lot. Krishnamurti, who was a speaker and writer on matters that concerned humankind, has a point that he wanted us to ponder.

We in the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) also believed that education is a lifelong process of self-renewal, thus, the institute is not ceasing to innovate since we are committed to our mission that is to ensure delivery of quality training and extension services to our clientele.

From the varied channels to take full advantage of like the traditional means (face-to-face) and through the electronic (virtual), ATI is introducing a new flavor to our learners’ plate wherein they are encouraged to process it well in order to taste better.

This innovation is called blended training where the traditional face-to-face training is complemented by taking one or more online courses that can aid on the participant's learnings.

We maybe are considered bringing many novelty services to our clients, yet, we are still hounded with the question on how these learning affect our lives. Krishnamurti’s words might be applicable for neither you nor me but the essence of assimilating our learning is still considered a process to tag along.

Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
