ATI Compound, EL SALVADOR CITY---Delivering strong episodes week after week, the “AgriStoryahay sa ATI” web series of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) is off to another fresh and informative episodes focused on various commodity-based and farming technologies on Hydroponics Gardening, Mushroom Production & Processing, Free Range Chicken Production and Management and a special feature about how to stay healthy in this time of covid-19 pandemic.
With four topics slated for the whole month of July, Fridays will spin a new dimension of online learning via video and live streaming at the ATI Northmin’s Official Facebook page.
Healthy Amidst Pandemic: A Nutrition Month Special (Episode 11 – July 3, 2020)
Registered Nutritionist and Dietitian Zyra Dopenio of the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) in Cagayan de Oro City will deliver pointers on health and nutrition as we go on in our everyday lives while complying with the community quarantine protocols. This episode will prompt viewers to aspire to remain healthy and vigilant of their own safety.
Do-it-Yourself Hydroponics Gardening (Episode 12 – July 10, 2020)
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil by using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent. This method of growing plants in treated water is popular in urban settings with limited plots and garden areas. For this episode, our very own young farmer and Young Filipino Farmer Training Program in Japan (YFFTPJ) alumnus Jun Beltran of Beltran Farm in Rosario, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental will serve as the resource person. He will share his simple and inexpensive solution composed of easy-to-procure ingredients from the farm to the viewers.
Buhong ka sa Uhong: Mushroom Production & Processing (Episodes 13 & 14 – July 17 & 24, 2020)
Mushroom majesty Ted Quemado of Malaybalay, Bukidnon will headline episodes 13 and 14, sharing steps and how-to guides in producing naturally-grown mushrooms and processing it for extra income. At a relatively young age, brothers Ted and Edsel James now operate their thriving venture, Mushroom City which purveys fresh oyster mushrooms, mushroom fruiting bags, savory mushroom chicharons in different flavors, mushroom chili garlic sauce and even providing hands-on Mushroom Cultivation Training.
Free Range Chicken Production & Management (Episodes 15 & 16 - July 31 & August 7, 2020)
A back-to-back discussion on Free Range Chicken Production and Management will transpire on July 31 and August 7, 2020 by organic farming practitioners Bhal Cabrera of Cush Prime Ventures and former Misamis Occidental Governor Leo Loreto Ocampos of Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park in Tangub City. The awesome twosome will later resume the carry-over episode on August 7.
A registration link is provided for participants to register. A corresponding e-Certificate will be given for every completed episode. Prizes and freebies are also given away per contest.
Debuted on April 24 this year, “AgriStoryahay sa ATI” is a FREE and no-frills webinar series in support to the Plant, Plant, Plant Program and “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat Kontra sa Covid-19” (ALPAS COVID 19) of the Department of Agriculture. It is produced by the Information Services (IS) section and also joined by a network of agri-experts and specialist of the center.
