On September 9, 2011, I attended the joint meeting of the Region Eight Applied Communications Task Force (REACTF) and the Regional Management Information System-Core Group (RMIS-CG) of the Visayas Consortium for Agriculture and Resources Program. Part of the discussion was the upcoming silver anniversary and debut of the REACTF and RMIS-CG, respectively, in June 2012. Dr. Wolfreda T. Alesna who presided the meeting, shared how both groups started and how we become what we are at present.

In November 2010 Mr. Armel Lozano sought ATI-RTC 8 assistance for his thesis “Conditions Leading to Completion and Discontinuance of Enrollees to ATI e-Learning for Agriculture and Fishery Program in Eastern Visayas”. Seeing this as an opportunity for an improved e-Learning service to our clienteles, the Center gladly assisted him.

The series of training of trainers on AgriPinoy framework became a venue for the e-Extension coordinators (eEC) to promote the e-Extension program of the Department of Agriculture, which is being carried on by the Agricultural Training Institute.

There is an A-Team and another an e-Team.

The A-Team is a fictional group of ex-United States Army Special Forces personnel who work as soldiers of fortune. Each team member has specialization which complements that of the other in the team,making them formidable.

We set out for Baler, Aurora at 7:00am on May 18. The journey was long and tiring, which was aptly described by Olan when he quipped, "Nakakailang panaginip na ako nasa Nueva Ecija pa rin". We reached our destination, Aurora Technological Insitute (ATI) at 4:30pm.

Another year had passed that brought together the e-Extension coordinators for the e-Extension CoMotion: 3rd Program Assessment and Planning Workshop last March 15-19, 2010 at Oasis Hotel in Angeles City, Pampanga .

Year 2009 was a momentous year for e-Extension with the launching of Text Support Center in February and eventually the Farmers' Contact Center (FCC) in November. With both services formally launched under the e-Farming component of the e-Extension program comes the challenge of making it reach to the ultimate clients, the farmers.
