ATI-7 joins 21st UBIFest in the new normal

TAGBILARAN CITY - In celebration of the 21st Ubi Festival in the new norm, with the theme “Pagpananum og Ubi napuslan, Kagutom nga dala sa COVID19 nabatukan” the Agricultural Training Institute-VII (ATI-7) participates through showcasing of different techno-guides and information materials especially on Ubi production (3 series) at the ground floor of the Island City Mall (ICM), this city. The exhibit will run from January 25 to February 24 this year.

ATI-7 and the Alay Marcela Foundation (AMF) of the Alturas Group of Companies (AGC) have been partners for 3 years now in terms of promoting information, education, and communication through exhibits and forums held at the mall.

It was in 2020 when thousands of Boholanons were affected by the height of COVID19, thus the ATI-7 has provided different interventions just to fight the threat of hunger brought about by the pandemic and one was through a partnership with the AMF.

Meanwhile, the Ubi Festival is held every January since 2000, Ubi is known to be sacred among Bol-anons and its potential in creating successful livelihood. It is through the festivity that Ubi farmers gather to share ideas on farming and investment opportunities for their product, however this year the organizers made some twists under the health and safety protocols set by the provincial government. ATI-7 opted to exhibit at the mall due to public demand.

“Daghan man gud tawo manganha sa mall, mas effective kung adto e display ang mga IECs/techonoguides because walk in clients can easily grab copies” said PIA Bohol Information Officer Elvira Bongosia as she observed on last year’s exhibit at the ICM.
