ATI-7 enhances LS thru financial assistance

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), as the Extension Support Education and Training Services (ESETS) arm of the Department of Agriculture, is responsible for conceptualizing training and extension modalities. The Learning Site (LS) is one of ATI’s innovation being institutionalized since 2011 among the whole ATI network.

In the province of Bohol a total of 21 Learning Sites was established. Just recently, ATI-7 held a back-to-back turn-over of financial assistance to two of its Learning Site in the province, 1st tranche to Green Thumb Farm, Sambog, Corella and 2nd tranche to Teofil’s Farm, Gabi, Ubay at the ATI-7 Regional Training Center on July 8, 2020.

The financial assistance will be used for the enhancement of their Learning Site like the construction of small growing house, comfort rooms, area for learners, and housing of their livestock and poultry products.
Learning Sites showcases improved technologies and practices of the LS Operator. Further, it serves as a venue to share to other interested individuals to learn agriculture, through actual experience by face to face and hands-on trainings. Through the LS, it is seen to inspire farmers to become agripreneurs, making business out of farming, thereby help ensure food security.

Green Thumb Farm is owned and managed by Ms. Rona Denque and Teofil’s Garden by Mr. Victor Castro both received the amount of P150,000.00 and P75,000.00 respectively.
