Healthy juicing seminar at ICM

TAGBILARAN CITY – Lifestyle-related diseases, as the Department of Health referred to, is a term used to emphasize the contribution of behavior to the development of chronic diseases. The risk factors that are linked which include smoking, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and stress.

With this alarming situation, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 7 based in Cabawan District, this city conducted a one-day Free Seminar on Preparation of Healthy Juices with Dr. Mechelle Acero-Palma, Lifestyle Medicine Specialist as the resource speaker at the Island City Mall Activity Center last March 20, 2019.

Dr. Palma gave inputs on lifestyle-related diseases and its prevention. Highlighting her input was the preparation of different blends and juices and the open forum.

A total of 56 participants from the region attended the activity. Meanwhile, Dr. Carolyn May O. Daquio, ATI-7 Center Director, in her message disclosed that this seminar is the third of a series for 2019 in collaboration with the Alturas Group of Companies through their Alay Marcela Foundation who has been supportive in conducting these endeavors.

Lhea Glory Mae B. Araña, the project officer, shared that the activity generated positive impact among walk-in clients and online community because the promotions were done through announcement during trainings and on the official Facebook page of ATI Central Visayas.
