Tagbilaran City – To strengthen and enhance collaboration among the network towards the Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) Livelihood Project, a total of 24 participants coming in from the different government agencies, extension workers together with personnel from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) joined the Climate Risk Reduction Network (CRRN) vulnerability assessment and planning workshop last March 26-27, 2018 at the ATI regional training center – 7, Cabawan District this city.
The two-day event discussed and provided participants updates on the ongoing CRA project; it also conducted a vulnerability assessment and identified sites for CRA Project expansion, drawn support services commitment from the partner agencies and planned for the next steps and forged agreements.
Redmund G. Nacario and Margarette Lim from Weather Philippines, Inc. discussed weather/climate information tools, weather 101 and tropical cyclone 101, while Joemelyn Sumagang shared updates on the CRA pilot project in Bohol.
Some of the agreements during the event includes Buacau, Clarin and Macaas, Tubigon as project identified sites, and conduct of courtesy call with the Local Chief Executive which is scheduled between April 26-28 this year with Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Unit (DA-RFO), Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PHILFIDA) and ATI among others.
