June 21, 2017. The Local Government Unit of Talibon headed by its Local Chief Executive, Mayor Restituto B. Auxtero and its Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Ms. Ponciana Cruda, were grateful to Agricultural Training Institute VII during the Turnover Ceremony of P1M Pesos for the Most Outstanding Municipality for 2016 Rice Achiever’s Awards yesterday at Talibon FITS Center.

The awarding was made possible with the presence of Ms. Lydia B. Borbano, Senior Agriculturist of ATI 7 who personally gave the cheque to the LGU administrator for the construction of a new training center for the farmers in Talibon, Bohol based on their proposal.

Ms. Borbano said that to be awarded as the Most Outstanding Municipality out of all the municipalities in the country, LGU-Talibon must be proud. The achievement was a result of all the efforts of the farmers, technicians of its agriculture office and the administration of the LGU Talibon. It was not because of just one person but of all the hands that were put together to make it excel over other municipalities. She also said that ATI 7 headed by Dr. Carolyn May O. Daquio will always extend its service to those LGUs who will continue its support towards agricultural development like LGU Talibon. “May this serve as an example to others so that they will be recognized maybe next year or the coming years,“ Borbano added.

Mayor Auxtero together with its Municipal Agriculturist Ms. Cruda expressed their heartfelt thanks to the regional center for the award and even joked that it was not like others. “Hatod-balay gyud ni sya nga award, “he stated.

He reassured everyone that the said amount will be used as proposed for the additional training center to address the issue of overcrowding in their current facility. “Mas daghang farmers pa ang maserbisyohan, “he continued.

Both parties said that the collaborative efforts of DA, ATI, LGU and other stakeholders will continue to realize better means of living for all especially the farmers.
