BOHOL. – “The reason for choosing barangay Tultugan as the pilot site for this project is that you fit the criteria,” Municipal Agriculturist of Calape, Elizabeth Cortes disclosed.
The Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) Program of the Department of Agriculture through the Agricultural Training Institute conducted a participative baseline profiling and project identification and prioritization last July 18-19, 2017 at the Barangay Hall of Tultugan, Calape, this province.
The Climate Risk Reduction Network (CRRN) representatives brainstormed as to how the group will approach the community in terms of generating baseline profiling as well as an impartial process of ranking priority and doable projects that suits the beneficiaries’ need.
A focus group discussion and creative workshop approach were used in order to generate the necessary data for the CRA project.
With the collaborative effort made by the beneficiaries and CRRN representatives, the desired information was generated and the identification of the two (2) projects that the beneficiaries deemed as their need. Said projects comprised of a motorized fishing boat with nets and swine raising production.
Capping the activity was the commitment setting through a candle lighting ceremony where each stakeholder offered their commitment to the project facilitated by Ma. Gracia S. Pungay, MPS II of ATI-RTC 7.
Present during the activity were Calape Mayor Nelson Yu; SB Member and Chair on Agriculture and Fishery Committee, Gerry Regalado; Tultugan Barangay Captain, Joyce Josol; Project Officer, Joemelyn Allianic with the members of the CRRN; Municipal Agriculturist, Elizabeth Cortez; Agricultural Technicians, Ma. Teresita Penticase and Ma. Louella Cua and the identified 20 CRA project beneficiaries.
