ATI-VII conducts food safety campaign

SIQUIJOR - In response to the growing problem on human health as far as agriculture is concerned and to basically explain why awareness on food safety now becomes a global trend, thus, the Agricultural Training Institute in Central Visayas conducted a one-day Aflatoxin and Awareness on Food Safety at the IE Suits, Poblacion, Siquijor this province on October 11, 2018.

Around 75 farmer-leaders, agricultural extension workers, food processors and Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Teachers of the Department of Education of the island-province of Siquijor gain insights on food safety, the effects of aflatoxin in agriculture and food and the prevention and control of aflatoxin. The activity was in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist of Siquijor.

The resource persons of the one-day activity were Engr. Joelline Ann Ates, Science Research Specialist of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-Siquijor) and Artemia A. Gotardo, member Bohol Food Safety Team.
