Catigbian MAO equipped further on extension delivery

One of the participants served as a resource person during the mock-up exercise on how to conduct training with the farmers

The local government unit of Catigbian through the Municipal Agriculture’s Office (MAO), headed by Municipal Agriculturist, Lorna Perenio, requested the ATI RTC 7 to conduct a training on Capacity Enhancement on Extension Delivery Services for Agricultural Extension Workers. The training aimed to enhance knowledge and skills for their AEWs in the implementation of agricultural projects and services to their farmer-clientele.

On 29 September to 1 October 2021, the requested training was conducted at the Bohol Bee Farm, Dauis, Bohol. Three staff from ATI RTC 7 served as resource persons for the said training: Ma. Gracia Soliva-Pungay, Maryjane Flor Patulilic-Bonilla, and Charlou A. Ampit.

Eight (8) staff from the Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Mrs. Perenio, attended the said activity. During the training, participants learned about extension delivery services; approaches, strategies and methodologies in agricultural extension; roles and responsibility of agricultural extension; community organizing; and how to prepare training design among others. The training also served as a very good venue for the MAO to discuss their roles and responsibilities, along with the staffing arrangement for 2022 – during the implementation of Mandanas Ruling.

One of the highlights during the training was the mock-up training exercise where participants act a specific role during a training like resource person, participants and members of the training management team. The exercise served as a training ground for the newly-hired AEWs and a further enhancement for those who have experience.
