Dr. Carolyn May O. Daquio has served as Center Director of the Agricultural Training Institute of Region 7 since September 1989.
She finished her bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños, Laguna in 1982 and her Masters degree in Agricultural Development from the Visayas State University in 1995 and earned her Doctor of Philosophy major in Educational Management at the Holy Name University in 2000.
Dr. Daquio was a Finalist in the 5th Search for Outstanding JICA Alumni in 2012 and was nominated as Outstanding ATI Achievers (Training Manager Category) in 1996.
Despite her achievements, Dr. Daquio never rests on her laurels; she continues to develop her knowledge and skills through her attendance to different trainings which include Executive Study Tour for the US Cooperative Extension System in the USA, Capability Development Program in Cambodia and Vietnam, and Capability Development Program in Singapore.
She also served as Counterpart for the Training Course Rural Life Improvement Sponsored by JICA held in Japan and the ASEAN – ROK Cooperation Technology Transfer Program In Agricultural Development Rural Development Corporation held in the Republic of Korea
Before she joined ATI, she worked as a Media Researcher, Media Supervisor, and Agricultural Extension Specialist for the Philippine Training Center for Rural Development (PTC-RD) Farmers Training Center in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro and ViSCA, Baybay, Leyte.
Prior to her current position as the head of ATI-Region 7, she handled the position as Training Specialist/Chief of Operation Designate based in Cebu City.
Maam Carol, as her colleagues call her, believes that “we have two main reasons on why we extend services beyond boundaries, it's because we wanted to facilitate our clients’ needs to increase their production and at the same time improve their quality of life.”
