ATI-7 convened Bloggers’ Forum

Tagbilaran City – With the idea that Blogging/Vlogging is a way to inspire, empower and educate the world amidst pandemic, the Agricultural Training Institute – VII (ATI-7) conducted two (2) batches of Bloggers’ Forum to the Association of United Development Information Officers (AUDIO) Bohol on July 29 and 30, 2020 at Jolit’s Eco Garden, Cambacay, Batuan, and IYAAH Eco Farm, San Isidro this city.

The activity aims to promote the extension services of ATI-7 especially the Learning Sites for agriculture modality while learning an interesting platform in communication which is Blogging and Vlogging.

Tapping her expertise on Microblogging, Ms. Jhuriz Dugaduga of Bohol Bloggers Collective talked on Blogging Government Development while the renowned founder of Travel 29, Mr. Rowell Clenuar taught participants techniques on Vlogging.

Bloggers’ Forum enabled Mr. Jomer Balag of Jolit’s Eco Garden and Mr. Robert Olaer of IYAAH Eco Farm to showcase their farms and demonstrate agricultural technology they practiced while on a farm tour with the attendees. These Learning Sites (LS) are just two out of the 20 active LS in Bohol.

Learning Site is a farm that serves as a demonstration area for hands-on learning where the farmer as the resource speaker, source of technology, exhibits applicable technologies and farming strategies. It is also a field visit area for other farmers and agri-enthusiasts while making profits.

“Bloggers’ Forum allows fellow Information Officers (IOs) to share our knowledge using a more interesting platform, refining our communication skills when we do or write our blogs and expand our professional network at the same time we are learning how to appreciate and be engage in agriculture development which we all need for food sufficiency, security and sustainability especially in this time of the pandemic,” said Ms. Fiel Angeli A. Gabin, President of AUDIO Bohol.

Attendees were IOs from Pag-ibig Fund; Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR); Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR); National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP); Philippine Carabao Center (PCC); Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA); Bohol – Agricultural Promotion Center (APC); Civil Service Commission (CSC); Philippine Information Agency (PIA); and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). Likewise, IOs from the following LGUs: Tagbilaran City; Bien Unido; Buenavista; Calape; Getafe; Maribojoc; Lila, Garcia Hernadez; Pilar and from Bohol Daily News participated in the event.

With the knowledge learned from the forum, participants are expected to come up with a Blog/Vlog. Doris Isabel J. Racho, ATI-7 Information Officer was the project officer of the activity together with her support staff Quennie Lou Vistal.
