BOHOL – Twenty-four persons with disabilities (PWD) from Tubigon, this province participated in the three-day training on Enhancing Capabilities of Persons with Disabilities through Meat Processing last June 28-30, 2019 at the Farmers Information Technology Service (FITS) Center.
With the objective of developing their attitude and enhancing their spirit on self-help through livelihood activities, the PWDs performed hands-on on meat processing where their disabilities are not considered as a hindrance to augment their income.
Aside from meat processing, discussed by Ms. Berly Ingking of Berl King’s Homemade Products, participants also listened about the basics of Food Safety and Financial Literacy shared by Dr. Gracia F. Arado, Training Center Superintendent I and Jorge Fat Trinidad, Training Specialist II of ATI-7 respectively.
Part of the agreements made during the training is that the officers and members of Tubigon Association of Persons with Disabilities (TAPDI) together with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development will source out fund for additional capital as a counterpart to the start-up kit provided by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 7 (ATI-RTC 7).
Ms. Geselle Belda of the local Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office discussed the benefits and support from the government for PWDs.
