BOHOL – The Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) of the Agricultural Training Institute is now on its phase 2 with the municipality of Tubigon this province as the next site with Tultogan, Calape as CRA-1.
Last June 4-6, 2019, ATI-7 held the Save the Environment and Make a Difference: A Training on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation at Calape Cultural Center, Calape with the aim of helping to combat the ill-effects of Climate Change by attending its causes and reducing vulnerability to its consequences
Twenty-seven participants composed of farmers, agricultural extension workers and environmental advocates successfully joined the activity. They were able to learn the role of the local community towards Climate Change impacts, causes and its measures; the importance of Environmental Conservation; experienced field visit to Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) Pilot projects; joined in the advocacy of environmental-friendly practices to avoid the increase of pollutant emissions and reduce vulnerability to the consequences of climate change.
Capping the activity was the mangrove planting at Barangay Tultogan in Calape. Apart from this, the participants also crafted an Action Plan for their community.
Facilitating the activity was Joemelyn A. Sumagang, Training Specialist I of ATI-7 who is also the Project Officer and resource speaker.
