Participants were grouped in two during the getting to know you activity

Tagbilaran City - On April 26 – 28, 2022, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 7 conducted a Gender-based Training Management Skills Enhancement Course. The training was conducted through a face-to-face approach at ATI-7 Training Complex, Cabawan District, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. This is the second batch for the Training Management Skills Enhancement Course conducted by the Center this year. The first batch was conducted on March 1-3, 2022.

The training was participated by agricultural extension workers coming from the different local government units of Bohol and Cebu. Moreover, the training looked into the gender aspect where all female and male AEWs were given fair opportunity to join the training: with 14 female and 9 male completers.

This training aims to enhance the knowledge and skills among AEWs on their training management skills to meaningfully appreciate and effectively carry out relevant training and other related activities for accelerating the development of agricultural and rural areas. In the course of the three-day training, participants learned about the code of ethics for government employees; agricultural extension management; effective leadership in extension; and the whole training system components from pre, during and post training activities.

After all the discussions, the participants were grouped and did an actual demonstration on how they would facilitate a training. Each member of the group had their respective role when they did the demonstration.

Dir. Alice May S. Parcon from Civil Service Commission; and Dr. Carolyn May O. Daquio, Dr. Gracia Arado, Ma. Gracia Soliva-Pungay, Maryjane Flor S. Patulilic, and Lhea Glory Mae B. Araña from ATI-RTC Central Visayas shared their expertise on the topics discussed as resource persons.
