TAGBILARAN CITY. – Member-farmers of the indigenous people (IP) of the TAyETFA (Taytay Eskaya Tribe Farmers’ Association) together with the Local Chief Executive of the Local Government Unit of Duero, Bohol, Mayor Conrada C. Amparo paid a courtesy visit at the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 7 (ATI-RTC 7) office based in Cabawan District, this city last March 2, 2018 during their site visit and benchmarking to Egay’s Farm in Dauis, Binhi sa Panginabuhian Demo Farm in Maribojoc and Fort Justine Farm in Sierra-Bullones all of Bohol province.
The site visit and benchmarking is part of TayETFA’s season-long training on Farmers Field School (FFS) on Highland Vegetables. About 27 member-farmers participated the event.
Meanwhile, Dr. Merrian Piquero Soliva, Media Production Specialist II in behalf of Center Director, Dr. Carolyn May O. Daquio welcomed and shared to the participants ATI-7’s program and services, while Ms. Reynadez Lim facilitated the office’s demo farm site visit.
Also in the event were personnel from the Municipal Agriculture Office of Duero, Mr. Ranulfo Caseñas, Municipal Agriculture Officer and Mirason Verula, Agricultural Extension Worker who also are instrumental in the FFS that kicked-off last September 2017.
Participants are expected to complete the season-long training on the second week of March this year.
