“Agribusiness is not yet widely known and understood. This is why we have to continue taking steps and measures on how to spread awareness and knowledge on this field which has a huge potential to sustain a country.”

This was stated by OIC-Director Luz A. Taposok of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) during the Consultation and Orientation on Kapatid Agri-Mentor Me Program (KAMMP).

The ATI OIC-Director expressed her support to the said project as she believes that this will help boost agribusiness in the country through the dissemination of various practices and techniques. She explained that KAMMP will enable agricultural entrepreneurs to find success in their livelihood and small businesses.

Dr. Taposok also mentioned that KAMMP will serve as an encouragement for everyone including the youth, to widen their understanding in the field of agriculture. “There is a huge profit in agriculture. There is more to agriculture than livelihood.” “Agriculture is a sector worthy to invest in for many obvious reasons. For one thing, it is a flexible industry as you could pair it with other fields of interest. All industries go well with agriculture,” she added.

KAMMP was launched under the partnership of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Go Negosyo. This was sealed with a Memorandum of Understanding signed last April 6, 2017. The said project primarily aims to equip agricultural entrepreneurs with better understanding of how the agribusiness industry works and how they can effectively maximize their resources.

The objectives, outcomes, methodology and the overall logistics of KAMMP was discussed to the participants composed of DA-Regional Field Office representatives and ATI regional training center superintendents during the consultation and orientation. Updates on the administration of technical needs assessment and schedule of implementation were as well presented.

This event was held last April 25, 2017 at the Rural Development Education Center (RDEC), ATI Compound.
