PILI, Camarines Sur -- In line with Agriculture Secretary Manny Pinol’s three-point agenda which includes the implementation of fast and effective agricultural technology transfer to farmers, Dr. Luz A. Taposok showed her support during the graduation ceremony and the launching of School-on-the-Air (SOA) programs in the Bicol Region last March 28 and 29, 2017, respectively.

Dr. Taposok served as the keynote speaker during the commencement exercise of ATIng Kaugnay Teleradyo Magazine Program SOA on Vegetable Production Technology in which she commended the farmer graduates for their patronage on the SOA Programs of ATI. She stated,

She further explained that they are the partners of ATI and DA in the utilization of organic farming in the country.

The ATI OIC-Director also mentioned that they reflect how the Institute played its role to capacitate farmers in applying advanced and strategic farming techniques, thereby making them able to contribute in nation-building. She elaborated,

In addition, Dr. Taposok underscored the importance of organic agriculture both for the environment and the consumers. According to her, choosing an organic lifestyle is a manifestation of how we value our health and our natural resources.

She ended her speech by challenging the farmer-graduates to foster growth and development throughout their communities, similar as how the seeds they planted will eventually bear vegetables for the benefit of the entire nation.

Other speakers in the event include OIC-Center Director Vivien Carable of ATI Regional Training Center V (ATI-RTC V), and Asst. Regional Focal Person of HVCDP Ronald Comprada. Cirlo Nuyles of ATI-RTC V concluded the program with warm felicitations to the participants.

The SOA on Vegetable Production Technology was aired on Saturdays at 9:30 – 10:30 AM from October 2016 to February 2017.

After the graduation day, Dr. Taposok graced the launching of another SOA program on goat production technology which will be aired likewise every Saturday at 7:00 – 8:00 AM at 89.1 Idol FM.

The said events were held at Pili, Camarines Sur and Legazpi City, Albay, repectively.
