STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan - The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) launched the “Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita” in celebration of its 34th National Coconut Week at the Barangay Hall of Tebag East in Sta. Barbara last August 25, 2020. With the theme “Masaganang Niyugan, Tungo sa Kaginhawaan”, the activity aims to promote various coconut and agricultural products in the province.
TAYUG, Pangasinan – In its bid to reduce the risk of transmission of ASF in the region, ATI-RTC 1 in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Tayug, Pangasinan through the Municipal Agriculture Office, conducted the Advocacy on the Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever (ASF) on August 11, 2020.
ILOCOS NORTE - Health and food crisis are among the havoc caused by the corona virus since it started in 2020. In response to this, the Department of Agriculture (DA) introduced the Plant Plant Plant Program (4Ps) to ensure continued food production in rural and urban areas to enhance food security amidst the pandemic.
BALUNGAO, Pangasinan – A total of 60 swine farmer-participants from various barangays of Balungao, Pangasinan attended the training on the Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever (ASF) held on July 23-24, 2020 at the Balungao Municipal Hall. This advocacy aims to create awareness on the prevention and control of African Swine Fever (ASF) to minimize its spread in Region I.
STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan – The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) awarded the first batch of extension support to the participants of the School on-the-Air (SOA) on Free Range Chicken (FRC) Production on July 1, 2020 at its office in Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
VINTAR, Ilocos Norte - Despite the threat of COVID-19, the National Livestock Program (NLP) of the Department of Agriculture, through the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I), awarded 496 free-range chicken (FRC) to 31 Barangay Animal Health Workers (BAHWs) in Vintar, Ilocos Norte on June 3, 2020.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture.
