PILA, Laguna - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON in partnership with the Municipal Agriculture Office of Pila, Laguna conducted the second batch of Seminar on Urban Agriculture for 4H/RBO on September 18, 2020 via google meet. A total of 20 teachers and students of Don Manuel Rivera Memorial National Highschool participated in the activity.
LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – Uniformed personnel of the 564th Engineer Construction Battalion, 51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army were taught of the basics of planting organic lowland vegetables in the urban setting.
CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – In support to the Plant, Plant, Plant Program or “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa Covid-19” program of the Department of Agriculture in ensuring food security and availability, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON initiated the radio broadcast on urban gardening entitled, “Kalahamanan: Kaalaman at Kahalagahan ng Paghahalaman.” Kahalamanan is a

ATI CALABARZON Center Director, Marites Piamonte-Cosico and Pila town mayor, Hon. Edgardo Ramos and Municipal Agriculturist (MA), Camilo Palacol handed them over during the closing ceremony of the ATI-led training last September 17, 2020.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite- The Agricultural Training Institute- CALABARZON collaborated with private extension partners in establishing propagating stations that will serve as a community-based plant nursery, dubbed as “Binhi para sa Pamayanan.”
SILANG, Cavite – Young farmers of 4H Greenery Community Farm, a recognized youth organization in this municipality recognize the importance of growing their own food, especially during this pandemic.
Among them is Maria Monica Vicedo.“Malaking tulong ang mga ganitong programa para sa amin kasi bukod sa estudyante kaming lahat na nag-take ng agriculture, dagdag kaalaman [ito].”
A total of 30 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from CALABARZON region completed the two batches of online training entitled, “Regional Training of Trainers (TOT) on Strengthening the Capability of the Agricultural Extension System for Agricultural Biotechnology,” on September 7 and 9, 2020.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, CAVITE - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Calabarzon in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office Region IV-A conducted the 1st batch of “Capability Enhancement Course for Local Farmer Technicians (Batch 1)” last September 7 to 11, 2020 at ATI-Calabarzon Training Hall.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Recognizing the need for collaborative endeavors in agriculture and fishery development, the Agricultural Training Institute in Calabarzon develops a training manual to standardize the conduct of extension and training interventions in the region.
LOS BAŇOS, Laguna - Twenty (20) Rice Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) of Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon participated in the “Refresher Course on Rice Production Technology” thru blended learning held on August 24 to 28, 2020.
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite- The Agricultural Training Institute - Calabarzon and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Noveleta, Cavite conducted the 2nd batch of “Training on Organic Production Technologies” with provision of starter kits.
To strengthen the promotion of urban agriculture and agritourism in the region, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON in partnership with Agripreneur of GMA 7 feature three (3) certified Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSAs) namely Gintong Bukid Farm and Leisure in Nagcarlan, Laguna; Yumi’s Farm in Tayabas City and Bunch Farm in Lucena City in Quezon province.
To encourage further individuals and households to engage in backyard farming, more inspiring stories concluded the 3rd batch of AgriKuwento, a one to two-minute short story video of personal experiences in home gardening.
CALABARZON – In partnership with Radyo Natin 106.3 Laguna, Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Calabarzon resumed its information caravan on RCEF for the province of Laguna through a radio program, dubbed as “TalaPalayan: Talakayan ukol sa RCEF Program” after it was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal – In response to food security and sufficiency, 15 individuals from Barangay San Roque in Antipolo City, Rizal completed the first batch of Seminar on Urban Gardening on July 29, 2020. City Agriculturist Ms. Mamalyns Dion with Mr. Rey Mendoza and Mr. Junel Igharas served as resource persons on basic urban gardening.

CALAUAN, Laguna – The Department of Agriculture - Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PhilMech) distributed rice farm machineries to 26 Farmers Cooperatives and Associations (FCAs) from the province of Laguna, at Laguna Agricultural Trading Center (LATC), on July 30, 2020.
TANZA, Cavite – The Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) collaborated with ATI Calabarzon to train soldiers on mushroom production and beekeeping.
During the opening program of the two-day activity, ATI Calabarzon Center Director, Marites Piamonte lauded the initiative of ARESCOM.
