Two batches of Retooling Course on Lowland Rice Seed Production and Certification for Seed Growers were conducted on August 10-12 and 12-14 at ATI-RTC 02 San Mateo, Isabela.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. The school-on-the air on organic agriculture, OK sa OA was concluded over the airwaves and social media pages of the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02). The project has around 300 farmers and young farmers from different municipalities of Isabela and Cagayan participating.
Another batch of facilitators and trainers for the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Farm Schools were prepared to handle season-long modified farmers’ field school offered to rice farmers in the region.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC 02) conducted two batches of training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on Meat Processing for rural women.
SAN MATEO, Isabela. “Amid the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the Regional Agriculture and Fishery Extension Network (RAFEN) spearheaded by the Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02, convened for their semestral meeting.
“We are all affected by this Corona virus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, but we have to move on, we have to seek ways to help produce food for the majority.” These are the words of Center Director Imelda Guillermo during the opening of the management and performance review.
San Mateo, Isabela. The point person of the corn extension program of the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) facilitated the validation of new learning sites under the program.
San Mateo, Isabela. The top management of the Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02 (ATI 02) visited certified learning sites who implemented the modified farmers’ field school.
Together with the Provincial Directors of TESDA, Center Director Imelda Guillermo visited Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya while OIC Asst. Center Director Maria Norma Maddalora visited Cagayan.
The organic agriculture and rice program are now on their final leg in conducting information caravans on backyard gardening. Another four batches of said campaign were conducted in different municipalities.
San Mateo, Isabela. Selected agricultural extension workers on corn participated on the Training of Trainers on Integrated Crop Management-Corn-Based Farming System. This is preparing them to conduct training for their farmers in this time of pandemic.
Basco, Batanes. After almost five months of discovering new technologies under the Farmer Scientist Training Program (FSTP) Phase 3, 20 farmers graduated from the training.
Farmers to benefit from the Back to Basic Livestock Advocacy Campaign, Livelihood Enterprise Modules
San Mateo, Isabela. The Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02 (ATI-RTC 02) will be conducting back to basis livestock advocacy campaign in selected municipalities in region 02. This is in response to the directive of the Department of Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar to refocus the national livestock program in response to the COVID-19 crisis situation.
San Mateo, Isabela. The Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Unit (PMEU) of ATI-RTC 02 will be conducting result-based monitoring and evaluation on the Climate Resilient Agriculture (CRA) Project livelihood assistance to the selected beneficiaries in region 02. This RBME project aims to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the interventions given by the ATI-RTC 02.
San Mateo, Isabela. The Training on Backyard Integrated Farming System was conducted for 17 agricultural extension workers (AEWs) last June 23-25, 2020 with the theme, ensuring food availability in the households.
SAN MATEO, ISABELA. Agriculture Secretary William Dar said “the youth, given the appropriate support, can meaningfully contribute to rebooting Philippine agriculture.” Indeed, the youth is the hope of our fatherland.
San Mateo, Isabela. After almost three months from establishment when enhanced community quarantine was enforced, it is harvest time for the ATI-RTC 02 ATIng Gulayan.
In preparation for the opening of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Farm Schools for the Wet Season 2020, the ATI-RTC 02 is conducting a 10-day training of trainers from June 22 to July 3.

For the Agricultural Training Institute in Region 02, its Facebook page and radio program were utilized harnessing the dissemination of information and agricultural technologies in the region.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
