BANGA, AKLAN – Twenty-one (21) Barangay Animal Health Workers (BAHW) from the Municipalities of Madalag and Ibajay, Aklan were trained during the Training for Para- Technicians on Basic Veterinary Services (Barangay Animal Health Worker) last September 8 - 10, 2020, at ATI Training Hall, ASU Compound, Banga, Aklan in support to the National Livestock Program (NLP) of the Department of Agricultu
A total of 30 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from CALABARZON region completed the two batches of online training entitled, “Regional Training of Trainers (TOT) on Strengthening the Capability of the Agricultural Extension System for Agricultural Biotechnology,” on September 7 and 9, 2020.

Planting Rice in the Time of COVID-19: RCEF FFS on Rice Production in Kalinga Yields 550 Farmer Graduates
The Farmers Field Schools (FFS) on rice production for Kalinga launched on February 2020 under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) was finally concluded on July 2020 with 550 farmer graduates amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The graduates of this dry season FFS are from the municipality of Rizal with 100 graduates from four batches, and Tabuk City with 450 graduates from 18 batches.

Tagbilaran City – The Agricultural Training Institute – VII (ATI-7) is now back on track with the recent conduct of training held in and outside the regional training center. Recently, two (2) batches of Safe Food Saves Life: A Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Forum was concluded on August 26 and 27, 2020 at ATI-7, Barangay Cabawan, this city.

With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture.
