Gawan ku ing gagawan ku” (for as long as there are farmers who struggle for livelihood, I will continually thrive and do my duty), the seasoned farmer Mr. Nestor Garcia uttered with conviction. This has been his guiding principle in his 50 years of farming experience.
Garcia started farming at the young age of 10. His father and uncle, who were both farmers in Pampanga, would tag him along as soon as works in the field commenced.

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal – In response to food security and sufficiency, 15 individuals from Barangay San Roque in Antipolo City, Rizal completed the first batch of Seminar on Urban Gardening on July 29, 2020. City Agriculturist Ms. Mamalyns Dion with Mr. Rey Mendoza and Mr. Junel Igharas served as resource persons on basic urban gardening.
Butuan City – Pushing forward in supporting farms in the Caraga region, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII Technical Working Group (TWG) continues to validate farms that applied for Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) certification on July 29 - 30, 2020.
BANGA, Aklan – La Felicidad Granja, a 2.5-hectare integrated farm located at Lapnag, Banga, Aklan is a newly certified Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) of ATI. Edgar R. Rebaño, owner and a graduate of various ATI trainings, received a financial assistance worth of PHP300, 000 last July 28, 2020, at ATI Building, Banga, Aklan.

AMPAYON, Butuan City – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 turned over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training tools to the Caraga State University (CSU) last July 30, 2020 in support to its Agri-Fishery Machinery Testing and Evaluation Center (AMTEC) which is a one of a kind testing center in the region.

TANZA, Cavite – The Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) collaborated with ATI Calabarzon to train soldiers on mushroom production and beekeeping.

TAGBILARAN CITY – With the continuous threat of the pandemic for the past three months, the Agricultural Training Institute in Central Visayas conducted its first face-to-face Training on Food Production at the Household Level with Financial Literacy last July 20-21 and July 27-28, 2020 at the Training Complex in Cabawan District, this city.

BALUNGAO, Pangasinan – A total of 60 swine farmer-participants from various barangays of Balungao, Pangasinan attended the training on the Prevention and Control of African Swine Fever (ASF) held on July 23-24, 2020 at the Balungao Municipal Hall. This advocacy aims to create awareness on the prevention and control of African Swine Fever (ASF) to minimize its spread in Region I.
KORONADAL CITY - School-on-the Air has been implemented by the Agricultural Training Institute way before COVID-19 pandemic arrived. Due to limitation of farmers in the country side to access technology, listening to the radio is still a highly effective method of delivering information specially in farming technologies.
