This was delivered by Jennifer J. Dejarme, Sr. Science Research Specialist of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), last October 3, 2020 via Google Meet.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), there are 2.3 million OFWs as of 2018 and most of them perform menial jobs. The former carpenter, Roberto Lintag, might have remained an OFW had he not seen the opportunities from a piece of land he inherited from his father.

ORMOC CITY, Leyte - Rice mechanization is one of the components of Republic Act No. 11203 or the Rice Tariffication Law. It is very helpful to farmers in terms of timeliness of operation, maximized production potential, increase in crop intensity, and the prevention of farm loss.

BRGY. LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – For the first time, audit for the ISO re-certification of ATI will be done via internet which is termed as “Full Remote Audit”. This will take place from October 26 to November 20, 2020 in all 17 networks of ATI including the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ITCPH) and the Central Office.

Boosting Partnership in the New Normal: ATI-CAR and BPI-NSQCS Tandem for RCEF Seed Growers’ Training
TABUK CITY, KALINGA. Underscoring the importance of quality seeds towards higher rice productivity, rice seed growers in Kalinga went through an Enhancement Course on Inbred Rice Seed Production. The course, which was implemented on September 21-24, 2020, is one of the activities under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF)-Extension Component. After four days of intensive classroom discussions and field practice, 20 seed growers successfully received their training certificate at the TAMPCO Inn and Training Center at Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times.
