Financial literacy trainings continue in Leyte

HINDANG, Leyte –The Second semester activities of ATI RTC 8 continue in Leyte as more farmers train to increase their financial literacy. The activity also anchors on values reformation topics towards a successful agri-enterprise.

The training further explains the importance of financial literacy to agri-enterprise development and the agri-credit programs of the Department of Agriculture. Corn-based farming systems were also discussed since the training is also under the corn program.

Engaging on the process to financial literacy, participants did workshops on farm layout and financial recording (cash flow statements and budget).

Mr. Almaquio Timbal says, "Una sa tanan ako dakong pasalamat sa ATI sa ani nga training ug sa taga DA. Dako kong pasalamat ani nga activity nga nakahibaw mi mahitungod sa Financial Recording, Filipino Values ug sa unsaon pamaagi sa pagtanum ug mais. Daghang salamat sa tanan".

Also, participating in the workshops made Lorna Abenoja realize how important savings are to financial success. "Pasalamat ko usa ko sa naka attend ani nga training. Daghan kog nakat-onan mahitungud sa pag negosyo, unsaon pag budget, ug pag-savings arun molambo ang atong negosyo. Salamat pod sa ATI nga naghatag ug pondo para ani nga training.

A total of 38 participants completed the Financial Literacy training (Batch 1 and 2) on August 11-14, 2020 at Barangay Tabok, Hindang, Leyte. (With reports from Gizell Jill Nuñez)
