BAYBAY CITY, Leyte –For a week or two after the quarantine was imposed, ATI in Eastern Visayas received the same inquiry from various individuals, clients, and partners. At that time, there wasn’t much the center could give as procurement was still on-going.
Now, seeds are available for FREE while supplies last. However, the Center can only address requests from Baybay City residents. Select barangays within the city already received seeds through their barangay officials and neighbors of ATI staff and those inside the campus also visited the Center to avail of the seeds since the distribution began.
While not everyone can have it, ATI in Eastern Visayas continues to share planting tips and ideas for our clients to enjoy and learn wherever they may be during this COVID-19 pandemic through our social media platforms, Facebook: ATI in Eastern Visayas, Twitter: ATIEVisayas, and Instagram: atieasternvisayas.
Also, Local Government Units in the region continue their efforts to provide and distribute seeds to their constituents through their respective Municipal and City Agriculture Offices.
Consequently, the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office 8 has provided additional vegetable seeds to ATI in Eastern Visayas for distribution which are still available at the Center. For our clients within the campus we say: ‘come by, we got seeds for FREE!’.
The Center will continue to keep you, our clients posted, and shall provide extension service the best way despite the distance.
