The virtual smiles and faces of LSA/SPA Cooperators of Western Visayas after the forum.

BANGA, Aklan – Twenty-eight farmer cooperators of Learning Sites for Agriculture/School for Practical Agriculture (LSA/SPA) participated in the first LSA/SPA Forum via Zoom last December 11, 2020.

Dr. Eden DLR. Bautista, ATI Region 6 Center Director, assured the Center's support in every endeavor of the LSAs/SPAs especially in opportunities of scaling up to Farm School and Farm Tourism Sites. She hoped that the forum serves as an assessment of LSA and SPA. Furthermore, she challenged everyone to revisit the Memorandum of Agreement signed during the Certification of their farms specifically, the regular submission of quarterly reports.

After the activity, the farmer cooperators were able to review the purpose, functions, roles, and responsibilities of LSA/SPA cooperators vis a vis ATI, prepare and submit required reports. Also, they discussed issues, concerns, and opportunities relevant to their continued enhancement.

Meanwhile, ATI Region 6 awarded three farmer cooperators for the year 2020 for their exemplary performance. They are as follows:

  • Lea P. Deala of Deala's Integrated Farm - ATI Region 6's Top Fan Award
  • Connie Carillo Diversified Farm owned by Ms. Connie Carillo - Most Visited Farm
  • Enrico A. Mora of Mora’s Farm - Outstanding Farmer Cooperator for 2020

The winners shared their farm best practices to inspire their fellow cooperators and to continue their efforts towards extension services. This activity enhances the farmer cooperators' knowledge and attitude in sustaining partnerships, documenting, and reporting their activities. Moreover, this aims to widen opportunities in accessing relevant services and possibly level up to Farm School and Farm Tourism Sites.
