WOMENS GROUP GAIN MORE KNOWLEDGE BY LEARNING AND DOING

Ligaya Nono-Spinner, resource person, imparted the topics on Basics of Herbology and Pharmacognosy, Various Types of Herbs Preparation and Processing Herbs the Easiest Way.

HERBS FOR LIFE: A Seminar on Herbs Processing and Utilization is a sequel to AgriTalk. The demand for a hands-on activity on herbs processing came after some group of women in Miag-ao, Iloilo requested that they be trained on this since there is an abundance of herbs and raw materials in the locality.

Twenty-five women who are members of the Rural Improvement Club of Miag-ao, Iloilo were very eager to learn the knowledge and skills imparted to them by Ligaya Nono-Spinner, who has been in this undertaking for years. The topics include the Basics of Herbology and Pharmacognosy, Various Types of Herbs Preparation and Processing Herbs the Easiest way.

The one-day activity covered also the recognition of different kinds of herbs and its uses. She also gave tips on how this training can help as a source of livelihood if taken seriously by the attendees. Mrs. Spinner is a Midwifery graduate but worked abroad as an Overseas Filipino Worker where she learned her skills. She also trained at Remnant Institute of Alternative Medicine (RIAM).
