NC II on Organic Agriculture aspirants in action during the hands-on activity before the assessment day.

BINGAWAN, Iloilo - In support to Republic Act 10068 or Organic Agriculture Act of 2010, ATI Region 6 in cooperation with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted the Skills Enhancement on Organic Agriculture Technologies for Competency Assessment last August 26 to 30, 2019 at Connie Carillo Diversified Farm, Bingawan, Iloilo. Twenty eight out of 29 applicants passed as competent on Organic Agriculture (NCII).

The participants were composed of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), Learning Site Cooperators, and Farmer Practitioners. The eight modules based on TESDA’s Protocol in Organic Production focused on Raising Organic Chicken, Production of Organic Vegetables, Production of Organic Fertilizers, Formulation of Organic Concoctions and Extracts, Raising Organic Hogs, and Raising Organic Small Ruminants were discussed thoroughly by the resource persons before the mock and actual assessment. These activities were pursued in order to enhance their knowledge and skills in organic agriculture and its related technologies as preparation for their assessment on organic agriculture.
