A curious customer collects various IEC materials about vegetable gardening during the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita in Kalibo, Aklan on May 5.

KALIBO, Aklan – The Agricultural Training Institute in Western Visayas intensifies its information campaign on urban gardening despite COVID-19 threat. Various IEC materials were distributed during Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita in Kalibo, Aklan last May 5, 2020. The activity dubbed as Gugma it Kalibo: Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita was held at the Municipal Economic Enterprise and Development Office (MEEDO) – Agricultural Services Division, Kalibo Municipal Building. Agricultural and fishery products of farmers and fisherfolks from Kalibo and nearby municipalities were displayed for sale.

The IEC materials such as Pag-aalaga ng Ampalaya, Gabay sa Pagtatanim ng Organikong Talong, Pag-aalaga ng Sitaw, Sulundan sa Pagtanom sang Kalabasa, kag Pagtanom sang Sibuyas Bombay were distributed. Reading materials on fast growing crops such pechay, kangkong and lettuce were also made available to the public.

Meanwhile, the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita in Kalibo will be held every Tuesday and Thursday. ATI-RTC 6 thru its Information Services Section (ISS) will support this effort with the distribution of IEC materials thru the Municipality’s Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center. The Center turned-over a total of 3,000 copies of different IEC materials to Mr. Uriel Las Piñas, OIC – Municipal Agriculturist at the same time Manager of FITS Center Kalibo.
