HANDS-ON TRAINING ON ORGANIC VEGETABLE PRODUCTION CARRIED OUT IN BANGA, AKLAN

BANGA, Aklan – Eighteen farmers, Agricultural Extension Workers and Organic Agriculture Enthusiasts from the Province of Aklan attend the one-day Hands-on Training on Organic Vegetable Production and Seed Banking in response to COVID-19 at ATI Region 6’s Training Hall, ASU Compound, Banga, Aklan on June 29, 2020.

The group got the chance to visit and see by themselves the different kinds of vegetable planted at the ATONg Ugsaran, a technology demonstration site on backyard gardening located at ATI Region 6’s Office where it shows the different technologies on vegetable production in a limited area.

Mr. Uriel M. Laspiñas, Municipal Agriculture Officer of Kalibo, Aklan discussed topics on Natural Farming Technology System (NFTS) and Fertilizer Preparation, Organic Vegetable Production Technologies, and Seed Banking. He also shared his expertise on the preparation of soil mixture and preparation of different organic fertilizer concoctions.

The objective of this one-day activity is to provide the participants the necessary knowledge, skills and appropriate technology on the production of organic vegetables as well as on seed banking.
