The Agricultural Training Institute- Central Luzon (ATI-CL) is set to feature selected certified Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) in its new book entitled ‘Vignette: A Travelogue of ATI-CL Learning Site for Agriculture’ this November 2019.
The said publication will showcase technologies adopted by the LSA, their facilities and amenities, activities related to agriculture, products that they have developed, food/delicacies they can offer to visitors, and various tourist destinations in their area.
Once published, this will serve as a great avenue to promote agri-tourism in the region. This will also intensify the purpose of the LSAs in sharing technologies and farm innovations to the community. Moreover, it will also showcase how far ATI-CL has been helping farmers develop their farms through its training programs and other extension interventions.
A total of 25 selected LSAs in the region will be featured in this book. These are: Azbahaen Leisure Farm Resort and Inn and Jade Shine Farm in Aurora; Diaz Agri Farm and Bataan Hydroponics in Bataan; Perlas ng Palayan, Nathaniel's Farm, Gerry's Farm, Cabiokid Foundation Inc., IGB's Farm, and K-D Nature Farm in Nueva Ecija; Lifebank Microfinance Foundation Inc. Center for Bayanihan Economics, Munting Paraiso ni Yolly Farm, Bulacan Agricultural Training Center, Jo-Cel Farm, and Numana Farm in Bulacan; Charisma Nature Farm & Training Center Inc., Diaspora Farm Resort, St. Isidore "the FARMer" Learning Center, and TPKI Foundation Nature Farm in Pampanga; Eco Natural Integrated Farm, Tomy Garma Farm, Ragsak Family Farm, and EDL Farm in Tarlac; and Lotus Dairy Farm and Bukid ni Juan in Zambales.
‘Vignette’ aims to communicate to the youth and would-be agripreneurs the importance and benefits of farming. This will eventually help in addressing the country’s problem in the abrupt and consistent declination of youth who wants to engage in farming.
Like the book’s title, ‘Vignette’ will showcase brief descriptions of the LSAs, this will ideally provoke the readers to seek and ask for more. This will be the time that they will visit the LSAs to see and experience what the farm has to offer. (APBermudez)
