In preparation for the opening of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Farm Schools for the Wet Season 2020, the ATI-RTC 02 is conducting a 10-day training of trainers from June 22 to July 3.

In support to the Plant, Plant, Plant Program of the Department of Agriculture, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center 02 started to distribute backyard garden starter kits to farmers on April 27.
Aside from disseminating information, education and communication (IEC) materials on Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) and rice technology updates, flipchart on palaycheck system were packaged, reproduced and distributed to farm schools conducting the modified farmers’ field school.
Before the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, the evaluators of the Gawad Saka was able to conduct evaluation of the regional entries for the search for outstanding rural improvement club (RIC).
Even before the enhanced community quarantine because of the corona virus disease (COVID-19), Center Director Imelda Guillermo of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Region 02 is always encouraging staff to establish their own home garden. “Walk the talk”. Our credibility as trainers are seen in our practice, she said.
