Video, F2F advocacy campaign held in Cumigad’s Farm

The promotion of urban agriculture has reached the municipality of Gamu, Isabela. Right at the Cumigad’s Farm in barangay Linglingay, 25 individuals from different barangays convened for a face-to-face and video mediated information caravan on organic vegetable farming system. It is a continued massive information campaign promoting the production of vegetables utilizing every space at home to ensure food supply.

Aside from lectures, a technology video on vegetable production was showed as part of the campaign strategies. Steps in establishing Food Always in the Home (FAITH) and urban/container gardening, preparing natural farming inputs, and raising free range chicken were discussed. Demonstration on how to prepare fermented plant juice and fermented fruit juice was likewise conducted.

Meanwhile, starter kits which contains garden tools, vegetable seeds and IEC materials were provided.

The campaign was conducted on September 29, 2020 responding to the request of the LGU Gamu.

The venue is a proposed learning site in Linglingay where integration of different commodities and a farm tourism is showcased.
