The popular mentorship and coaching program for farmers and agripreneurs is now online and successfully launched in Region 02 on October 7, 2020. The Kapatid Agri Mentor Me Program (KAMMP) of the Go Negosyo in partnership with the Department of Agriculture through the Agricultural Training Institute is being conducted through virtual sessions.

“Sa pagpapatakbo ng ating negsoyo, you not only need to become technical experts on your products or service… but we also need to be equipped with basic business knowledge and skills-- and this is the unique aspect of the KAMMP,” Ms. Ana Margarita N. Hontiveros, Go Negosyo Agripreneurship Senior Adviser, explained during the launching.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar, in his message during the launching, expressed his support to the KAMMP as one of the strategies to encourage the youth, returning Overseas Filipino Workers, and others to engage in inclusive agribusiness.

“There is just 1% of our small and medium-scale enterprises engaged in agribusiness. And we believe that this partnership that we are launching today will elevate the game so that more and more agripreneurship will open… Let’s pursue inclusive agribusiness, your Department of Agriculture will always be there supportive of this major endeavor,” Agriculture Secretary Dar said.

There are at least 40 participants composed of farmers, farming enthusiasts, young farmers, fishers, agripreneurs, and processors engaged in integrated farming, poultry production, mushroom production, cacao processing and other high value crops.

“The PCE Go Negosyo and Department of Agriculture came up with KAMMP as a coaching program to complement with government initiative to help sustain and scale up agribusiness in the country… We expect that you will finish all the modules and come up with a business plan, let us maximize our learning sessions with our mentors,” CD Imelda M. Guillermo shared.

The mentees will undergo seven-week coaching sessions every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00PM- 5:00PM.

The mentors are industry practitioners who will provide guidance and assistance to the mentees by sharing their experiences and business learnings.
