Violeta T. Laguna, Training Specialist II of ATI Caraga and Rice Point Person discusses the importance of the RCEF-RESP Baseline survey for the AEWs and Rice Farmer-beneficiaries on January 14, 2020.

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City-The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 conducted its orientation and briefing for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and enumerators for the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund- Rice Extension Services Program (RCEF-RESP) Baseline survey on January 14, 2020 at the ATI Training Hall, Los Angeles, Butuan City.

The baseline survey aims to establish all the data and information, both qualitative and quantitative from the AEWs and farmer-beneficiaries. The data being established will be carried out as bases for the evaluation of RCEF extension services program. The survey assesses most of the farmer-beneficiaries’ farming activity engagements from the past five (5) years before RCEF-RESP was implemented. Moreover, the study also considers their adoption, practices and utilization of all the rice-based farming interventions they received from the government.

The said activity was attended by 39 Rice point persons and AEWs of every municipality from the three (3) chosen provinces of the region under the RCEF- RESP.

The results of the survey will be utilized as a reference in providing and strengthening the extension interventions for the rice-based farmers.

The survey is way helpful in abetting and intensifying the interventions that this program has. This will also help that ‘Masaganang Ani, Mataas na Kita’ be fully recognized by the farmers and will see it as a beneficial tool in alleviating their quality of life.
