Cotabato 4-H Members excited to venture in Mushroom Production, Processing

Resource Person Mr. Rene G. Serra demonstrates to participants how to process mushroom into a Pasalubong Product

M’lang, Cotabato- To see agriculture as a profitable and exciting career path, the center through its 4-H/RBO Program conducted the Training on Mushroom Production and processing held at M’lang, Cotabato last August 27-27, 2020.

Held at the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist in M’lang, Cotabato, twenty one (21) members of Dreamweavers 4-H Club, Dalipenean Bambooture 4-H Club, Tibao 4-H Club and selected member of Volunteer Leaders Association of the Philippines (VLAP) in Cotabato Province joined the 2-day training.

VLAP Member of President Roxas town Mr. Rene G. Serra shared his knowledge on Mushroom Production and Processing. He also discussed the Overview of the Mushroom Industry in the country.

The said training was facilitated by 4-H/RBO Point Person Ms May A. Guiang and Alternate RBO Focal Person Ms Anareystel Lape in active coordination with Municipal Agriculturist of M’lang Mr. Caleb Aaron C. Fabila, Alternate RBO Focal Person of Cotabato Mr. Emmanuel Paclibar and 4-H Provincial Coordinator of Cotabato Ms Judy C. Gomez.

“Maraming salamat sa ATI 12 dahil nabigyan kami ng opportunity na matutunan ang mushroom production. Napakarami naming natutunan na maaring maapply namin sa aming barangay”, said 4-H Club Member of Dalipenian 4-H Club Mr. James W. Helo.

Seeing mushroom production and processing as a viable enterprise after the training, members of the three 4-H clubs were excited to venture in this kind of business.
