4-H Club in Davao Region Holds Youth Camp 2019

Fun and laughter resonated in the vicinity of GSP Alano Regional Program Training Center, Toril, Davao City as members of the 4H Club actively joined in the merriment of this year’s 4-H Regional Youth Camp held on April 4-6, 2019.

The three-day event was attended by 100 delegates from the provinces of Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental and Davao City, this year’s host. Various contests and games were held, aligned with year’s theme “Bida 4-H: Bringing Innovation and Development in Agriculture through 4-H Club”. Winners of the contests will represent the region in the 67th Farm Youth (4-H) National Convention in Vigan, Ilocos Sur on May 28-31, 2019.

The following are the winners of the major and minor contests and will represent the region in the 4-H National Convention; Cacao Food Processing- Camille Jane S. Campilan from Compostela Valley Province, Terranium (Glass Gardening)- Irene Jane R. Ladera from Compostela Valley, Video Making- Rodel Artiaga, Jr. from Compostela Valley, Himig Handog- Corinne L. Imba from Compostela Valley, Quiz bee- Majun Sarino from Davao City, On the spot canvass- Melbert John T. Moya from Davao del Norte, Spoken Poetry- Christian Palacay from Davao del Sur.

Aside from contests, other highlights of the camp include the coastal clean-up drive at Brgy. Daliao, Toril, Davao City and the sharing of Japan experiences of the Farm Youth Program (FYP) alumni Mr. Rechie D. Benaning, Mr. Domingo G. Borres and Mr. Jericho Sullaga.

The activity was wrapped up by the customary Citizen and Candle Lighting Ceremony held in the grounds of Camp Alano, participated by the organization’s dignitaries and all delegates.
