Urban agriculture intensified via center’s gardening initiative

ATI compound, EL SALVADOR CITY---Armed with gardening implements to establish another garden area, the management and staff of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) convened on Thursday June 4 to make garden beds and plant vegetables in support to the “Urban Agriculture Program” and “Plant, Plant, Plant Program” of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The production of the said webinar series came in as response to the covid-19 pandemic which has restricted ATI’s conduct of face-to-face trainings.

ATI-RTC X, EL SALVADOR CITY, MISAMIS ORIENTAL. “Pag may itinanim, may aanihin”, a common adage exemplified by the ATI-RTC 10 employees during this time of great crisis. Mr. Romeo Salcedo and Mr. Joegene Bahian are the Center’s drivers, while SG Felipe Aguitong and SG Alven. Macana are security guards. They are not just security guards and drivers however, but also gardeners of the ATI-RTC 10.

Strengthening urban communities through community gardens

Metro Cagayan de Oro---A discussion of the center’s next move in pushing its Community Urban Gardening Program was facilitated recently by OIC-Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez along with ATI-RTC 10 senior staff. The meeting convened City Agriculturist Mr. Paul Douglas Calingin, along with Mr. Reynaldo Gil ‘Datu Makadingding’ Lomarda with wife Rose Maryl of Greenminds Inc.
