Agripinoy framework introduced

The VSU-based ATI 8 oriented stakeholders on the AgriPinoy framework for common and full understanding of its concept, principles and mechanics.

Forty-five provincial agriculturists and commodity program coordinators from the six provinces of Region VIII attended the regional orientation on February 14-18, 2011 at ATI-RTC 8, VSU, Baybay, Leyte.

Discussed during the orientation were the AgriPinoy framework; concepts, principles and components of LIKASAKA; natural seed production technologies for rice and corn, Gulayan sa Paaralan using natural technnologies, development of aflatoxin in corn; criteria in good agricultural practices (GAP) certification; livestock and fisheries production technologies; and attributes and skills of an effective trainer.

The AgriPinoy framework is anchored on the theme: "Bridging the gap, touching the heart".  It is a framework to strengthen partnership and collaborative efforts for sustainable agriculture and in enhancing farmers' productivity and profitability.

Series of orientations on the AgriPinoy framework for the six provinces will be carried out from February 28 to March 18.  On March 21-25, the municipal orientation will start among the municipalities in the 5th district of Leyte province.
