89 farmers receive FFS certificates

Carigara, Leyte.  Eighty-nine farmers from barangays San Juan, Barayong and Manloy of the Municipality of Carigara completed the four months Farmers Field School (FFS) on PalayCheck System in support to the Irrigated Rice Production Enhancement Program (IRPEP).  They received their certificates of completion on April 11, 2013 at the Kangara Gymnasium, Carigara, Leyte.

ATI 8 ties up with DA-RFU 8 in corn seed production training

The ATI-RTC 8 in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Unit 8 (DA-RFU 8) conducted the Open Pollinated Variety (OPV) Corn Seed Production and Certification Training on April 8-12, 2013 at ATI training hall, VSU, Visca, Baybay City, Leyte.

AFEN members trained on policy development

On March 19-21, ATI-RTC 8 conducted the training on policy development at the Center for Continuing Education of the Visayas State University.  Fifteen AFEN (Agricultural and Fishery Extension Network) members representing government agencies, state colleges and universities, non-government organizations and private extension providers participated in the training.

Farmers view techno demonstrations

Borongan, Eastern Samar.  One hundred fifty-one farmers from Barangays Bugas, Cabong, Lalawigan, Bayobay and Can-abong trooped to see the the participatory technology demonstration (PTD) areas, which include trials on varietal and seed selection, nutrient management, seedling rate, land preparation, and use of high quality seeds.
