MOVE AFEN REFILL

After MOVE AFEN REWIND came MOVE AFEN REFILL.

The REFILL stands for Regional Farm Improvement and Linkage-establishment Lectures while the first, Regional Workshop in Network Development.  Both were undertaken to enable AFEN officers and ATI 8 staff to learn both the technology that makes farms successful and the strategy to muster the support of others to promote sustainable agriculture.

Those who did not make it to REWIND made it to REFILL.

Participants visited the Alternative Indigenous Development Foundation, Inc. Techno Park in Bacolod and the MDC Farms in Victorias.  They were briefed on the projects done by the foundation and had sharing of farming experiences with Mr. Ramon A. Peñalosa who pesonally toured them in his farm.

The activity provided participants insights on strategies that make networks strong and dynamic. They have learned strategies in generating and sustaining support for sustainable agriculture projects; the approaches in empowering farmers to meet their needs effectively through organic farming; and the indigenous organic farming technologies that are doable, sustainable, profitable and replicable.

The activity was held on February 9-12, 2010 and facilitated by the Office of the Provincial Agriculture Services of Bacolod.
