Regional FCC Knowledgebase Creation Workshop Held
TACLOBAN CITY -- In January 2009, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) had a soft launching of the Department of Agriculture’s Farmers’ Contact Center paving way to the establishment of the Text Support Center for Agriculture and Fisheries. In collaboration with other partner agencies and stakeholders, this new service caters to all queries related to the e-Extension Program for Agriculture and Fisheries. This will soon be expanded to include voice (call) messages.
ATI has facilitated two consultative meetings on the development of the initial knowledgebase on agriculture and fisheries which were participated in by focal persons of different DA Agencies. Efforts have also been made in promoting the Text Support service in the national and regional levels. With the Text Support service reaching the regions, the inquiries being received by our Center are now more location specific. Thus, there is a need to facilitate regional consultation workshops to develop the location–specific knowledgebase for the frequently asked questions (FAQs) by farmers and fisherfolks in the country.
