Region 8 has continuously geared up its efforts towards food sufficiency to compete with other regions in the country. Its focus is to make sure that the food supplied is safe, healthy, and chemical free. This can be made possible through organic agriculture (OA).

Rice Crop Manager (RCM) is a very dynamic and ever-expanding ICT tool in rice farming. For the past year, RCM has been upgraded with functionalities and additional apps to be more helpful to stakeholders. With these changes, trained stakeholders have to be updated. Thus, the Department of Agriculture (DA) and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) designed the RCM Refresher Training.

The Mamanwa of St. Bernard, Southern Leyte is one of the tribes who often use rattan and bamboo as their materials in handicraft making. However, abaca is a new material for them.
