What is ATI-RTC 8?

MOVE AFEN REFILL

After MOVE AFEN REWIND came MOVE AFEN REFILL.

The REFILL stands for Regional Farm Improvement and Linkage-establishment Lectures while the first, Regional Workshop in Network Development.  Both were undertaken to enable AFEN officers and ATI 8 staff to learn both the technology that makes farms successful and the strategy to muster the support of others to promote sustainable agriculture.

Updating session for Palaycheck FFS

To ensure that proper application of the PalayCheck System in the next cropping season, the DA-ATI 8 conducted updating session to patch holes in the way the System is being applied and to clarify issues and concerns on its implementation.

Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Network (AFEN) Regional Consultation

Changes in the global economy offer so much challenges and opportunities to reach out and serve rural communities through extension.  The increasing demand, for example, for biofuel crops calls for new direction and strategies to empower farmers for extension service providers.  Together with this come the dangers of economic and ecological displacement of resource poor farmers who are not equipped to face the changes.

ATI Cultivates Team Ideals On Nature-conservation (ACTION) for Restorative Agriculture

Machines need to cool and stop spinning. Batteries need recharging. Carabaos need to rest and wallow. Development managers need to take time out and take stock of themselves ad their work.

Year in and year out, the staff of Visca-based Agricultural Training Institute have been moving in and out to enlighten, energize, encourage and empower rural communities in Eastern Visayas.

ATI 8 Empowers Farmer-Leaders

The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Unit 8 (DA-RFU 8) through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI-R8) trained farmer-leaders on farmer-led extension strategy (FLES) for them to help spur agricultural and rural development by empowering fellow farmers.

ATI 8 Facilitates Extension Unification

The diversity of players in and direction that extension takes often causes confusion among intended beneficiaries. It is for this reason that the ATI-RTC 8 encouraged extension service providers (ESPs) in six provinces in the region to organize themselves into an agriculture and fishery extension network, which serves as a mechanism for collaboration and unification of efforts that can create impact on the lives of farmers and fisherfolk in rural communities.
