In 2006, the ASEAN Good Agricultural Practice (ASEAN GAP) for fresh fruits and vegetables was adopted to serve as a standard for the production, harvesting, post-harvest handling, and packaging of fruits and vegetables.

The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 8, in collaboration with the Regional Field Office 8 of the Department of Agriculture, spearheaded a Hands-on Training and Exposure on Highland Vegetable Production and other Highland Crops. The training served also as a learning journey and exposure to different farms in La Trinidad, Benguet.
